What is the Mountain Cloud Farm CSA?
CSA or Community Supported Agriculture is a way to connect farmers and their local community. Members pay farmers in advance for a box of food each week. Our boxes our customized, so members choose which vegetables they receive each week. If you wanted a full box of carrots or one of everything go for it! We offer a diverse selection of vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers. We will also be offering egg shares and bread shares for purchase that will delivered with your CSA. If you order any dairy products through the Mountain Cloud Creamery Store you can pick them up at the same time as your CSA.
What are the benefits for a CSA customer?
Using this system ensures members are guaranteed our fresh produce all season long. Not only will CSA members benefit by having the first pick of our diverse and seasonal produce, we also offer special discounts (see cost of share below). In addition, you can expect that most of your items will have a higher value than you paid for, because in a world where no two vegetables are the same size we will always give our CSA the biggest, juiciest ones.
Is a CSA Share right for me?
Our CSA is designed to provide delicious and diverse produce for everyone from individuals to large families throughout the summer and fall months. We have a number of box sizes to cater to all of our members. In the late fall, winter and spring we have an online store that is open to our mailing list to buy produce. When does the CSA start and end?
We have three CSA options:
The Full Season CSA (May 29- October 30 ) - 23 weeks
The Summer CSA (May 29-August 28) - 14 weeks
The Fall CSA (September 4- October 30) - 9 weeks
What is the best share size for me?
We offer four box sizes: small, medium, large and the Abundance Box.
Small - 5 points valued at $19/wk*. This box is suggested for 1-2 people who want to add some local goodness to their weekly meals.
Medium - 10 points valued at $38/wk*. This box is suggested for 2-3 people or individuals who want to source the majority of their weekly produce from Mountain Cloud.
Large - 15 points valued at $56/wk*. This is a great box for 3-5 people or anyone who would also like to be making preserves during the season.
Abundance Box - 20 points valued at $75/wk*. This is for our epic families who love veggies. We would suggest this box for 4-5 people.
*Dollar value of points is the real value of produce in each box. The amount of money spent per week can be less if members select discounted box deals.
What if you do not want to commit to a whole Farm Share CSA or you're a single person?
Many of our members split shares with friends or family members. Most folks choose to pick up alternating weeks but you could also just split the share each week. You can also visit us at the Sandpoint Farmers Market every week to purchase our yummy veggies.
How much do shares cost and how do I pay for them?
We offer all four box sizes throughout the season though prices will differ depending on when and how you purchase them. If you buy the Full Season you will get 23 weeks for the price of 22 weeks.
We have both the option to pay in full by April 1 or a payment plan in three installments. The three equal installments will be due April 1, May 29, and July 3. We encourage cash or check when paying for your share. If needed we can also take credit cards but all credit or debit card payments will include a 6% processing fee.
The Full Season CSA (23 weeks)
Pay in full or use our Payment Plan - Small ($413 total, can be paid in three installments of $138) Medium ($825 total, can be paid in three installments of $275) Large (1,238 total, can be paid in three installments of $413) the Abundance Box ($1,650 total, can be paid in three installments $550)
The Summer CSA (14 weeks)
Pay in full or use out Payment Plan - Small ($263 total, can be paid in three installments of $88) Medium ($525 total, can be paid in three installments of $175) Large ($788, can be paid in three installments of $263) the Abundance Box ($1,050 total, can be paid in three installments $350)

How do I purchase a share?
Go to our CSA Store and select the option that would be the most nourishing for you. Everything is listed as $0 so that you can pay later in cash or check in order to avoid the 6% credit card fee. You will get invoiced for whatever you order. We will be in town Wednesday March 27 to take payments for the April 1 deadline. You can always mail us checks, too.

What happens if I'm going out of town and I am unable to pick up my Farm Share CSA?
We understand you may not be able to pickup your CSA share every week. We just ask that you have a friend or family member pick up for you or maybe gift them your share. You can also pick up on the farm at a later date or organize to have a double order on another pick up day.
